What is the origin of the walimah held seven days after the wedding, which is called the seventh?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah preserve you, O honorable Shaykh, and reward you with good: Among the customs prevalent among some people is a walimah held seven days after the wedding walimah, which is called the seventh. Is there a basis for this in the Shari'ah?

The Shaykh : The walimah held for a wedding is only the first walimah, which takes place at the time of consummation or around that time. It is permissible for it to be held a second time, but a third time is disliked. Accordingly, we say: one should restrict it to the first walimah. As for limiting it to the week, and having it occur on the seventh day, there is no doubt that this is a religious innovation (bid'ah) for which there is no report from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or from his Companions. Therefore, one should not pay attention to it, and it should not be held; rather, it must be boycotted, because innovations are not permissible to be encouraged under any circumstances. Yes?

The questioner : Food is prepared in the week!

The Shaykh : He says: a walimah is held. The question says: a walimah is held.
