Ruling on Designating the Seventh Day of the Wedding for a Feast

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence! Among the customs prevalent among some people is a feast held seven days after the wedding feast, which is called "the seventh". Is there any basis for this in the Shari'ah?
The Shaykh : The feast held for a wedding is the first feast, which is at the time of consummation or around that time. It is permissible to hold a second one, but the third is disliked.

And on this basis, we say: One should limit it to the first feast. As for restricting it to the week, specifically that it should take place on the seventh day, there is no doubt that this is a religious innovation (bid'ah) for which there is no report from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or from his Companions. Therefore, one should not pay attention to it, and it must be boycotted; because innovations are not permissible to be encouraged in any way.
