The Book of Faith-01b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And Abu Ayyub Sulayman ibn 'Ubayd Allah al-Ghaylani narrated to me, saying: Abu 'Amr, meaning al-'Aqadi, narrated to us, saying: Rabah narrated to us from Qays ibn Sa'd from Mujahid, who said:
Bashir al-'Adawi came to Ibn 'Abbas, and he began to narrate, saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said. So Ibn 'Abbas did not give ear to his narration and did not look at him. He said: O Ibn 'Abbas, why do I not see you listening to my narration? I am narrating to you from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and you do not listen. Ibn 'Abbas said: We used to be such that when we heard a man say, The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, our eyes would turn to him and we would incline our ears to him. But when people began to mix the difficult with the easy, we did not accept from people except what we know.

The Shaykh : His statement "did not give ear to his narration" means he did not listen to his narration. And it has passed us in al-Bukhari that Allah the Exalted did not give ear to anyone except a prophet with a beautiful voice who recites the Qur'an melodiously... Yes.
