The Shaykh : He said in his introduction: “He came to us — meaning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) — with a noble Book, to which falsehood does not come from before it or from behind it, a revelation from the Wise, the Praiseworthy”.
His saying: "No falsehood comes to it from before it or from behind it". If someone says, "Falsehood does not walk, so how can it come from before it or from behind it?" The answer is that this is an Arabic linguistic expression, and everyone knows that the meaning is that falsehood cannot be in it, neither from before nor from behind. What has preceded and been reported in the Qur'an is truth, not falsehood, and what is to come is likewise truth, not falsehood. And what has been legislated of rulings is truth, and no harm results from it, neither before the act nor after the act.
Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it لا يأتيه الباطل من بين يديه ولا من خلفه
[Fussilat 41:42]
from before it بين يديه
the future and
from behind it خلفه
the past. Yes,
a revelation from a [Lord who is] Wise and Praiseworthy. تنزيل من حكيم حميد
[Fussilat 41:42]
(Mighty and Majestic) began with wisdom before praise because the occasion requires it. So everything in the Qur'an is in accordance with wisdom, and everything in it is such that Allah the Exalted is worthy of praise for it.
