The reader: "And that is because claiming affiliation with the Shari'ah name is better than claiming affiliation with any other name. Do you not see what Abu Dawud narrated from the hadith of Muhammad ibn Ishaq from Dawud ibn al-Husayn from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Aqabah from Abi Aqabah, who was a freed slave from the people of Persia, who said:
I witnessed [the Battle of] Uhud with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I struck a man from among the polytheists and said: Take this, and I am the Persian boy. So he turned to me and said: Why did you not say: Take this from me, and I am the Ansari boy.
.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged him to claim affiliation with the Ansar, even if it was through clientage (wala'), and it was more beloved to him to display this than to claim affiliation with Persia openly, which is a true lineage, not forbidden.
It is likely - and Allah knows best - that among the wisdom of this is: that the soul defends the side to which it claims affiliation, so if that is for Allah, it is better for the person.
These hadiths indicate that attributing a matter to the pre-Islamic age of ignorance (jahiliyyah) necessitates its condemnation and prohibition, and that necessitates the prohibition of the matters of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance absolutely, which is the objective of this book. And similar to this is what Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id narrated from his father "
.
The student: And that is the objective in such a case.

The Shaykh : And what comes after?
The student: And similar to this is what was narrated.

The Shaykh : I have it, and that is the objective in this, what is in the book.
The reader: I say the book dropped from J, D, and T.

The Shaykh : I have it dropped.
The reader: "And similar to this is what Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id narrated from his father from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah, Most High, has removed from you the pride of the pre-Islamic period and its boasting in ancestors. One is only a pious إن الله قد أذهب عنكم عَبية الجاهلية وفخرها بالآباء : مؤمن تقي
Sunan Abi Dawud 5116Hasan (Al-Albani)
"
.

The Shaykh : Do you have 'abiyah or 'ibiyah?
The reader: The yaa is shaddah (doubled).

The Shaykh : The yaa is shaddah, the known form is 'ibiyah. Ha, 'ubiyah, yes.
The reader: With dammah (u) or with kasrah (i) on the 'ayn, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : By Allah, I am the one who knows 'ibiyah, but not with certainty regarding this.
The student: It was mentioned in the footnote, it said: its 'ayn is dammah and its 'ayn is kasrah.

The Shaykh : Okay, so there are two dialects: 'ubiyah and 'ibiyah.
The reader: "
Allah, Most High, has removed from you the pride of the pre-Islamic period and its boasting in ancestors. One is only a pious believer or a miserable sinner. You are sons of Adam, and Adam came from dust. Let the people cease to boast about their ancestors. They are merely fuel in Jahannam; or they will certainly be of less account with Allah than the beetle which rolls dung with its nose.
Sunan Abi Dawud 5116Hasan (Al-Albani)
Abu Dawud and others narrated it, and it is authentic.
So he attributed the 'ibiyah and boasting to the pre-Islamic age of ignorance (jahiliyyah), thereby condemning it, and that necessitates its condemnation by being attributed to the pre-Islamic age of ignorance, and that necessitates the condemnation of the matters attributed to the pre-Islamic age of ignorance. And similar to this is what Muslim narrated in his *Sahih* from Abi Qays Ziyad ibn Rabi' from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him "
