Reading from the author's text with commentary and collation of manuscripts

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "And they also said, and among them is Abu Muhammad al-Qadiri, in explaining the reason for the dislike of shaving the head, according to one of the two narrations, because it involves imitating the non-Arabs, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who copies any people is one of them. من تشبه بقوم فهو منهم
Sunan Abi Dawud 4031Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani)
In fact, various groups of jurists from the followers of al-Shafi'i have mentioned this."

The Shaykh : But the author's statement (may Allah have mercy on him) in "according to one of the two narrations" is incorrect; the correct view is that shaving the head is not disliked. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the boy whose head was partially shaved:
Shave it all or leave it all. احلقه كله أو اتركه كله
This indicates the permissibility of shaving the head, which is the practice followed. It appears that this applies to situations other than the rites of pilgrimage. As for the rites of pilgrimage, it is by consensus that shaving is not disliked, but rather it is better than cutting the hair short. Yes.
