But those who disbelieve say, "Shall we direct you to a man who will inform you [that] when you have disintegrated in complete disintegration
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هَلْ نَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى رَجُلٍ يُنَبِّئُكُمْ إِذَا مُزِّقْتُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ [Saba 34:7]
up to the end of it, first: regarding grammar and rhetorical meanings
Shall we direct you
هل ندلكم
The intended meaning of the interrogative here is mockery, and
a man
رجل
indefinite
to a man
على رجل
indefinite for the purpose of belittling, meaning that he is a despicable man, as Allah the Exalted said regarding the people of Ibrahim
Is this the one who insults your gods?
أَهَذَا الَّذِي يَذْكُرُ آلِهَتَكُمْ [Al-Anbya 21:36]
And this applies to those who generally denied the messengers.
Is this the one who insults your gods?
أَهَذَا الَّذِي يَذْكُرُ آلِهَتَكُمْ [Al-Anbya 21:36]
And his saying
Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a messenger?
أَهَذَا الَّذِي بَعَثَ اللَّهُ رَسُولًا
[al-Furqan:41] Then this is for belittling, and his saying
informs you
يُنَبِّئُكُمْ
takes three objects; the first object is the *kaf*, and the second and third objects are suspended by his saying
you will [then] be [recreated] in a new creation?
إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ [Saba 34:7]
Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says regarding the disbelievers that some of them say to others in a manner of astonishment, as the author stated, or rather in a manner of belittling.
And those who disbelieved
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا [Ibrahim 14:13]
That is, some of them said to others, and some of them said to others in a manner of astonishment.
Shall we direct you to a man
هَلْ نَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى رَجُلٍ
It is Muhammad. Regarding the interrogative here, I said that it is for mockery, and the author added another meaning, which is
"astonishment"meaning, do you not marvel at what we will present to you as evidence? And his saying
to a man
على رجل
says
"It is Muhammad"But they said it with the indefinite article as a way of belittling him. They did not mention him by his name, because mentioning a person by his name can imply elevating his status. But they said it with this indefinite form to belittle him.
He informs you
يُنَبِّئُكُمْ
He informs you that you
When you are torn apart
إِذَا مُزِّقْتُمْ
you were torn apart
every torn thing
كل ممزق
meaning tearing apart
you will [then] be [recreated] in a new creation?
إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ [Saba 34:7]
This is what is being reported, he says
He informs you
يُنَبِّئُكُمْ
That is, He informs you. The word *al-naba'* means *al-khabar* (news). *Al-naba'* may be used for important matters, while *al-khabar* is broader in scope. One may report on an important matter or a trivial one, but one does not use *an-ba'a* (to announce) except for something great, as Allah the Exalted said:
(1) About what are they asking one another? (2) About the great news -
عَمَّ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ * عَنِ النَّبَإِ الْعَظِيمِ
[al-Naba 1:2] And Allah the Exalted said:
(67) Say, "It is great news (68) From which you turn away.
قُلْ هُوَ نَبَأٌ عَظِيمٌ * أَنْتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُونَ [Sad 38:67-68]
The word *naba'* (great news) may be used for great matters, unlike *khabar* (news), which is more general. And his saying
when you have disintegrated in complete disintegration
إِذَا مُزِّقْتُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ [Saba 34:7]
says
"When you are torn apart"And this tearing apart means the earth tearing apart the flesh of human beings. For when a person is buried, the earth tears him apart, and his hard bones become crumbled. So they say that he
who will inform you [that] when you have disintegrated in complete disintegration
ينبئكم إذا مزقتم كل ممزق [Saba 34:7]
The author said
"meaning tearing apart"And on this basis, the word *mumtaq* is a verbal noun with a prefixed *mim*. Yes. And his saying,
you will [then] be [recreated] in a new creation?
إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ [Saba 34:7]
This is the position of the *naba'* (great news), and it is in the position of an accusative that fills the place of the second and third objects.
He informs you
ينبئكم
the second and the third object, and his saying
When you are torn apart
إذا مزقتم
the word
If
إذا
This is a circumstantial phrase, so is it connected to
He informs you
ينبئكم
or is it connected to something omitted that the context indicates? The latter, because the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) informing them was not at the time of their being torn apart, but he informed them in this worldly life. Their being torn apart is when they are buried, meaning that when you are buried and torn apart, you will be in a new creation. And this new creation is the resurrection. Is the resurrection a return to what passed, or the beginning of a creation other than the first? The correct view is that it is a return to what passed, as Allah the Exalted said.
And it is He who begins creation; then He repeats it
وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ [Ar-Rum 30:27]
But it is called a new creation because when a person is resurrected, he is not resurrected in the same state as he was in this world, but rather in a state that is more severe and stronger. This is because he will be resurrected, do you remember this from the book? Not from the book of tafsir, because when he is resurrected, he will be in a stronger state, as he will be resurrected to remain forever and not die. For this reason, people on the Day of Resurrection will bear of distress, worry, and grief what they cannot bear in this world. For example, if the sun were to come within a mile of people in this world, it would burn them, but in the Hereafter it comes close to them and yet does not burn them. He says
you will [then] be [recreated] in a new creation?
إنكم لفي خلق جديد [Saba 34:7]
So, new in what? New in its essence and parts, or in its attributes? In its attributes, because the correct view is that the creation is a re-creation of what has passed... Yes.
