Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: ((But he brought the truth and confirmed the messengers))

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Rather, this is for the negation of what came before, meaning: No, you lied in what you said. In fact, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) brought the truth. The preposition "ba" here indicates accompaniment, meaning he came accompanied by the truth. So his saying is truth, and what he brought is also truth. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says this is from Allah, we say it is truth; he is truthful, and what the Qur'an contains is truth, and its opposite is falsehood. So "truth" here describes the statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he is a Messenger of Allah, and it describes what he brought. Thus, it describes both the report and the matter reported. The report of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that this Qur'an is from Allah, we say is truth, with no falsehood in it. And what he brought is also truth. This is because the Qur'an contains perfect justice and perfect truth, as Allah the Exalted said:
And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice وتمت كلمت ربك صدقا وعدلا
[Al-An'am 6:115]
So the truthfulness here is from two aspects: from the aspect of the report, and from the aspect of the matter reported. The report is that the statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that this is from Allah is truth, with no falsehood in it. The matter reported is that what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) brought is all truth, containing truth with no falsehood. The evidence for this is His saying, the Exalted:
And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice وتمت كلمت ربك صدقا وعدلا
[Al-An'am 6:115]
So truth is a description of the reports, and justice is a description of the rulings. The entire Qur'an is either report or ruling; its report is truth and its ruling is justice.
