His saying, may He be Exalted: “And He brings out the living from the dead” in the sense that the knowledgeable person is brought out from the ignorant one. How is it that: “And He brings out the dead from the living”?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : His saying, may He be Exalted:
He brings the living out of the dead يخرج الحي من الميت
[Al-An'am 6:95]
We said that the knowledgeable person is brought out from the ignorant one. And His saying:
And is one who was dead and We gave him life أو من كان ميتا فأحييناه
[Al-An'am 6:122]
?

The Shaykh : No, no, no, that is not the meaning: it is that a man who is knowledgeable has children who are ignorant.

The questioner : But in the first meaning, was he dead?

The Shaykh : In the first meaning, was he dead? This is what you are asking, this is what you are asking. And perhaps it is, no, this is what you are asking.
