Explanation of the Book: The Beginning of Revelation, Faith, and Knowledge-06b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abu al-Nu'man narrated to us, saying: Abu 'Uwanah narrated to us from Ziyad ibn 'Ilaqah, who said: I heard Jarir ibn 'Abd Allah say
On the day al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah died, he stood up, praised Allah and extolled Him, and said: "Fear Allah alone, who has no partner, and maintain composure and tranquility until your amir comes to you, for he is coming to you now." Then he said: "Seek pardon for your amir, for he used to love to pardon." Then he said: "As for what follows, I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: 'I pledge allegiance to you upon Islam.' He set a condition upon me: sincerity to every Muslim. So I pledged allegiance to him upon this. By the Lord of this mosque, I am sincere to you." Then he sought forgiveness and descended.
.

The Shaykh : (may Allah be pleased with them). This is authentic; there is no doubt that it is from sincerity, from great sincerity. When their amir died, they feared chaos and disagreement, so he stood up with this advice (may Allah be pleased with him). He praised Allah and extolled Him, commanded them to fear Allah and encouraged them to do so, and commanded them to maintain composure and tranquility until your amir comes to you. He did not command himself, even though it appears that he was among the best of them, if not the best of them.
Then he said: "Seek pardon for your brother," meaning ask for pardon for him, for he used to love to pardon. It is possible that the meaning is: "Seek pardon for him," meaning pardon him for what happened from him. Both are correct.
Then he mentioned that he pledged allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) upon Islam, and he set a condition upon me:
Sincerity to every Muslim والنصح لكل مسلم
, meaning he pledged with him upon sincerity to every Muslim.
He did not mention the hadith of Tamim al-Dari (may Allah have mercy on him), but he referred to it in the title in al-Bukhari, because it is not according to his condition, but Muslim narrated it: "The religion is sincere advice to Allah, His Book, His Messenger, the leaders of the Muslims, and their common people." These are five. So this is the religion: if a person is sincere to these five, he has come to the whole of the religion. Yes.
The reciter: The Book of Knowledge.

The Shaykh : Huh?

The questioner : ....
