Then he said: [Ghafir 40:7] Those: is a resumed subject (mubtada’ mustanaf), and it is obligatory to pause before it [Ghafir 40:6] You must pause, because if you say: [Ghafir 40:7] and connect it, the one who thinks will assume that the people of the Fire are those who carry the Throne, and this is a corruption of the meaning, so pausing at the phrase: [Ghafir 40:6]. And his saying: [Ghafir 40:7] is the subject, and the clause is the predicate of the subject.
[Ghafir 40:7] The Throne: It is the Throne of the Most Merciful (Mighty and Majestic), and it is the greatest, most magnificent, widest, and most noble of the created things, excluding those who are accountable. No one knows the extent of this Throne except Allah (Mighty and Majestic), because we have not been informed of its extent, nor do we know what material it is made of; is it light, wood, or iron? We do not know, because we have not been informed of that, nor do we know its color, nor do we know its texture, whether it is soft or hard. We do not know any of this. We only know that it is a great Throne encompassing the created things, and the Lord (Mighty and Majestic) rose above it. It has bearers, and it is well known that its bearers are currently four, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be eight. Among the bearers of the Throne is Israfil, who is in charge of blowing the Trumpet, for he is one of the bearers of the Throne. Do we know the attributes of those who carry the Throne? No, but we know that they are angels. As for how they are, that is suspended upon what has come through revelation.
“And those around it” is conjoined to the Throne, do you agree? [Ghafir 40:7] Do you agree that it is conjoined to the Throne? It is not correct, because if that were the case, the meaning would be “and they carry those around it,” which is not the case. Therefore, “and those” is conjoined to [Ghafir 40:7] and those around it.
Yes: " is conjoined to it " to the subject (mubtada’), because the commentator said: " Subject is conjoined to it " meaning to the subject, which is his saying: [Ghafir 40:7].
" is its predicate " is the predicate of the subject and what is conjoined to it, meaning the bearers of the Throne and those around the Throne glorify with the praise of Allah. Tasbih (glorification) is purifying Allah (Mighty and Majestic) from what is not befitting Him, such as deficiency or likeness to the created beings. The ba in his saying: indicates accompaniment, meaning a glorification mixed with praise, so they are glorifiers and praisers. " Meaning they say: Subhan Allah wa bihamdih (Glory be to Allah and with His praise) " And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has clarified that this is permanent and continuous, so He said: [Al-Anbya 21:19-20].
He said: "[Ghafir 40:7] the Exalted with their insights, meaning they believe in His oneness ".
Those [angels] who carry the Throne and those around it exalt [Allah] with praise of their Lord and believe in Him and ask forgiveness for those who have believed
