Commentary on Tafsir al-Jalalayn: ((Like the conduct of the people of Noah, 'Ad, and Thamud, and those who came after them)) "Like" is a substitute for the "like" before it

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The commentator said: “The second ‘like’ is a substitute for the ‘like’ before it, meaning like the reward for the habit of those who disbelieved”. The author, may Allah have mercy on him, has informed us that there is an implied meaning in the text, meaning that something is omitted from the text, which is “reward,” like the reward for their conduct, because this is what is feared, that these people will be subjected to punishment just as those people were. Good.
So if someone asks: How is “action” used for “reward”? We say because it is its cause. This is found frequently in the Qur’an, where Allah the Exalted uses “action” for “reward,” such as:
Taste [the result of] what you used to do." ذوقوا ما كنتم تعملون
[Al-'Ankabut 29:55]
The meaning is: “Taste the reward,” but it is expressed by “action” for “reward” because the reward is of the same kind as the action, and so that a person may be wary of his action just as he is wary of the punishment for his action. Good.
He says: “Like the reward for the habit of those who disbelieved before you, namely their punishment in this world”.
He said:
And Allah wants no injustice for [His] servants. وما الله يريد ظلما للعباد
[Ghafir 40:31]
Is the “ma” a negative particle, and is it Tamimi or Hijazi? Is the Qur’an Tamimi or Hijazi? It is Hijazi, because this Qur’an is in the Hijazi language. Look at His saying, Exalted is He:
This is not a human being ما هذا بشرا
and He did not say: “This is not a human being.” So we attribute to everything that follows this pattern the same attribute, otherwise it is true that in “And Allah does not intend injustice for the servants,” it is not clear whether it is Hijazi or Tamimi because the predicate is a sentence, not a single word in which the accusative case is apparent. However, what is not apparent in its grammatical case is attributed to what is apparent in its grammatical case, which is His saying:
This is not a human being ما هذا بشرا
Then know that the Qur’an was only written in the language of Quraysh, as ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to those who were compiling the mushafs: “If you differ in anything, make it according to the dialect of Quraysh” meaning according to their language.
