Is one who turns to books dedicated to the interpretation of dreams and relies on them in dream interpretation considered a dream interpreter?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is one who turns to books on the interpretation and explanation of the dreams he has seen considered a dream interpreter in this regard?

The Shaykh : Is he considered a dream interpreter? No, this is a great error. Turning to books that interpret dreams is an error, because a dream differs according to the difference in the dreamer and the difference in what was seen in it, and so on. For example, some people see that they are calling the adhan, and we interpret the adhan for them as meaning they will perform Hajj, based on His saying:
And proclaim to the people the Hajj وأذن في الناس بالحج
[Al-Hajj 22:27]
And some people see this dream, and we say he is a thief:
So a caller called out among you: "You are indeed thieves" فأذن مؤذن بينكم إنكم لسارقون
depending on the situation. Therefore, it is not permissible to turn to books of interpretation so that we look at each specific case individually. Furthermore, the reason for interpreting dreams in reality is not knowledge. A person may be among the most knowledgeable of people and not know how to interpret dreams, while another may be among the common people and interpret them, and they come true as he interpreted them. So we do not rely on these books. However, if there are general rules in them—I have not reviewed them before—if there are general rules that a person can make use of, then it is possible to refer to them.

The questioner : Shaykh, if one turns to a book, is it as if he turned to a dream interpreter? Meaning, does the dream interpreter come true?

The Shaykh : No, that is not correct.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : No, even Quraysh, the Messenger said to them this, meaning he said to Quraysh this: I am not an innovator among the messengers, nor one who stands over the messengers, nor one who rebels against them.
