The Shaykh : We have previously mentioned that "ala" is a particle of introduction and that it signifies? ... a warning!
The student: An alert,

The Shaykh : And that it signifies an alert. What is the example? The example of the introductory "ala" that signifies emphasis and alert?

The Shaykh :
Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve ألا إن أولياء الله لا خوف عليهم ولا هم يحزنون
[Yunus 10:62]
And in the verses with us:
Unquestionably, those who dispute concerning the Hour are in extreme error. ألا إن الذين يمارون في الساعة لفي ضلال بعيد
[Ash-Shuraa 42:18]

The Shaykh : Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said:
Allah gives provision to whom He wills الله يرزق من يشاء
[Al-Baqarah 2:212]
What is the meaning of "yirzuq" (provides)?
The student: He gives.

The Shaykh : He gives, and His saying:
whom He wills من يشاء
affirms the will, but is the will of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) a mere will, or is it a will accompanied by something else? By wisdom, yes, for He does not will anything except that wisdom necessitates it, whether in creation or annihilation.

The Shaykh : What is the evidence that the will of Allah is accompanied by wisdom? ... The saying of Allah the Exalted:
And you do not will except that Allah wills. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise. وما تشاءون إلا أن يشاء الله إن الله كان عليما حكيما
[Al-Insan 76:30]
meaning? So He does not will except what wisdom necessitates, whether in creation or annihilation. May Allah grant success. We ask Allah the Exalted to encompass us and you with His mercy, and to guide us and you to what He loves and is pleased with.
