Explanation of the author's statement: The fifteenth: that the fortune-teller is sometimes truthful. The sixteenth: that he lies a hundred lies along with it.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"The fifteenth: that the fortune-teller is sometimes truthful" Or is he not? Because he brings what he heard in the heavens, and perhaps he adds to it. So when what he heard in the heavens comes to pass, he becomes truthful, and truthfulness is the correspondence of speech to reality.

The questioner : Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Yes

The questioner : But how is it now? It has not yet been clarified, because he said: "He said the truth... Jibril was informed, so he said the truth."

The Shaykh : Yes, yes. This can be answered by saying: As for the revelation, which is the revelation, nothing is known about it; rather, it is from Allah to Jibril to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). But as for the matters of divine decree about which Allah speaks, these are not exclusive to Jibril. These matters of divine decree may be known in detail by the people of the heavens, and then the eavesdropper hears them. But as for the revelation, no one knows about it. Yes.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, yes. Because most of what they say is lies, so he is truthful once and lies a hundred times.

The questioner : Jibril said, "He said the truth," and the angels were content with this answer, even though they know that Allah said the truth. What is the benefit of their question?

The Shaykh : The benefit of their question is that they are reassured that this is not for a matter that will occur. Because, despite the fear, when they questioned and were answered with this answer, they became certain that nothing from this speech would befall them.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : In any case, there is ambiguity in it, but it is sufficient because they are now reassured that the command of Allah has not descended.
"The sixteenth: that he lies a hundred lies along with it" Yes, along with what? Along with the truthful word, he lies a hundred lies with it. And as mentioned before, this is not by way of specific determination, but rather by way of exaggeration.
"The seventeenth: that his lie is not truthful except by that word which was heard from the heavens" And as for what he said from his own opinion, it is conjecture with no truth to it. But the word that was heard from the heavens is truth... As for him, he adds things and lies to the people with them and deceives them with them.
"The eighteenth: the acceptance of souls of falsehood, how do they cling to one and not consider the hundred"
The student: With one.

The Shaykh : With one, yes, and they do not consider the hundred. This is correct. People come to this fortune-teller; when he is truthful once, they consider it, and the hundred lies are nothing to them. They are deceived by the one and consider it, saying, "That's it, if the fortune-teller says something, he is truthful." But they do not consider the hundred lies. And this is undoubtedly not a general characteristic of all people, but rather for the people of ignorance, foolishness, and affliction. As for the people of intellect and the people of faith, they do not consider this. And for this reason, when the word of Allah the Exalted descended:
They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, "In them is great sin and [yet, some] benefit for people. But their sin is greater than their benefit."
[Al-Baqarah 2:219]
, many of the Companions left it. Why? For the sake of weighing. And the intelligent person cannot, when he weighs things, prefer the side of harm. When it was said:
But their sin is greater than their benefit. وإثمهما أكبر من نفعهما
[Al-Baqarah 2:219]
, some people left them by their own choice and without... by command. Because the intelligent person, even if the Shari'ah did not descend, knows and distinguishes between harms and benefits. Only some of the foolish, undoubtedly, are deceived and consider the good that is submerged in harms, and they do not care about them. Yes, good.
"The twentieth: affirming the attributes, contrary to"
The student: The nineteenth.

The Shaykh : The nineteenth, yes: that they pass from one...
The student: Receive.

The Shaykh :"They receive that word from one another, memorize it, and use it as evidence" What word? The truth. They receive it from one another, they memorize it, and they strive to preserve it, because in reality, it is what makes their trade sell. If their trade now were lies upon lies, would it sell or not, Ya 'Ali? 'Ali, the servant of Allah, would it sell or not?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Good, do not write it... Good, I say that the fortune-tellers deceive people and delude them. How do they sell their merchandise? With this truthful word. Because if their speech were all lies, the people would not accept it from them.
