Continuation of the explanation of the author's statement: "And his saying (… and seeking rain through the stars and wailing)"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We have mentioned that the intended meaning of the ummah (the Muslim community) here is the ummah of response. Accordingly, the intended meaning of seeking rain through the stars is what? It is the third category, which is attributing the rain to the stars while believing that the Doer is Allah (Mighty and Majestic). This is a matter of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance. However, if someone from this ummah believes that the stars are the ones who act and create, and that they create the rain and the clouds, then this is major shirk (associating partners with Allah) and is not from the ummah. Likewise, [seeking rain] for the descent of rain is not from the ummah.
Thirdly: He said: Seeking rain through the stars.
The student: Wailing.

The Shaykh : What is wailing in my opinion?
Wailing over the dead. They said that wailing is raising the voice in crying intentionally, and eulogizing by enumerating the deceased's virtues. In reality, wailing is raising the voice in crying intentionally, but it should be added to this that it is done in the manner of wailing, like the wailing of doves. Do you know the wailing of doves? This is wailing over the dead. Wailing over the dead is a matter of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance, and it must be present in this ummah. It was a matter of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance due to human ignorance, either the ignorance that is the opposite of knowledge, or the foolishness that is the opposite of wisdom. Yes. Why? Because the one who wails over the dead does not increase his wailing except in intensity, sorrow, and torment.
Second: Because wailing indicates dissatisfaction with the divine decree and destiny, so it is an objection to the divine decree and destiny.
Third: Because wailing stirs up the sorrows of others. For this reason, it was mentioned regarding Ibn Aqil (may Allah have mercy on him), one of our scholars from the Hanbali scholars, that he went out in the funeral procession of his son Aqil, who was his eldest son and a student of knowledge. When they were in the cemetery, a man shouted and said:
They said, "O 'Azeez, indeed he has a father [who is] an old man, so take one of us in place of him. Indeed, we see you as a doer of good." يا أيها العزيز إن له أباً شيخا كبيرا فخذ أحدنا مكانه إن نراك من المحسنين
[Yusuf 12:78]
Ibn Aqil (may Allah have mercy on him), who was grieving, said to him: "O this one, the Qur'an was only revealed to calm sorrows, not to stir up sorrows". This stirs a person up to crying. So the wailer, the woman who wails, or the act of wailing over the dead stirs up the sorrows of others, to the extent that the one who hears the wailing is himself affected and moved. Since its harm extends to others, this is also a matter of ignorance.
Fourth: With these harms, does it avert the decree? Does it remove what has been decreed? No. So it is from ignorance. It is from ignorance. Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
It is a matter of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance. إنه من أمر الجاهلية
And his saying here:
Wailing over the dead. النياحة على الميت
includes whether it is done by a man or a woman, and it is so.
