The Ruling on a Fasting Man Looking at Women
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: The brother A. M. from Tunisia says in his question: If a person intentionally looks at a woman who is not a mahram to him because of her beauty, her clothing, or her body, does this invalidate his fast? Or is it disliked, and does Allah accept his fasting and reward him for the looks? Please give us a ruling, may Allah reward you with good.
Answer: It is forbidden for him to look at women, and if he looks with desire, the prohibition is more severe; because of the saying of Allah, the Exalted:[An-Nur 24:30] the verse [al-Nur: 30], and because unrestricted looking is one of the means to committing fornication. So it is obligatory to lower the gaze and to be cautious of the causes of fitnah. However, his fast is not invalidated if no semen comes out of him, but if he ejaculates, his fast is invalidated, and he must make it up if it was obligatory. And success is from Allah.
Answer: It is forbidden for him to look at women, and if he looks with desire, the prohibition is more severe; because of the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts
