Explanation of the Book of Tawhid-50

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said: "It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
Taking oaths may help you to make a sale but it takes (blessing) away from the earnings الحلف منفقة للسلعة مَمحقة للكسب
Sunan an-Nasa'i 4461
Agreed upon by the two Shaykhs."

Oaths الحلف
What is meant by this is the false oath, as the narration of Imam Ahmad clarified:
The false oath اليمين الكاذبة
"The false oath." As for the truthful oath, it does not have this punishment. And his saying:
A promoter منفقة
"It is taken from hypocrisy (nifaq), and nifaq is the passing through of a thing and its penetration. The passing through and penetration of a thing is called nifaq. So he is one who makes the merchandise pass through, meaning he is a promoter of it and one who makes it pass through, such that people take it when a person swears. And the oath regarding the merchandise may be an oath regarding its essence, its type, its description, or its value. All of this can occur. Regarding its essence, by saying, 'This is from iron,' and it is from... Yes, or 'This is of this type,' this type, is it not? Iron is a type, and... another type, and what is the...
The student: Nylon

The Shaykh : Yes, if we said nylon, he said, "This cloth is nylon," right? All of the apparent things are your rights... right. Okay, it does not resemble iron... there are things that resemble iron and are made of this plastic, right? Plastic, not plastic that fire eats, it burns with fire, this is made of... Yes, unless my language is not correct, I do not know.
Okay, in any case, he swore that this is made of iron, but it is made of wood, though it is smooth like iron. This is an oath about what? The type. He swore that it is good, that it is good, this is about the attribute. He swore that its value is ten, this is about what? About the value. He swore about the essence by saying, "By Allah, this is the property of so-and-so, and it was famous for quality, for example, but it is not it." This is about the essence. So in any case, the oath regarding the merchandise encompasses all these things: its essence, its type, its description, or its value.
A promoter منفقة
And what did we say?
A promoter منفقة
?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : It means a promoter, a penetrator, and a facilitator of the merchandise, because when people are sworn to them that this is of the good type, for example, they take it. But does the person earn from it or not?
The student: He earns

The Shaykh : He earns, he earns, except that the blessing of this earning is destroyed, because it is forbidden earnings, and forbidden earnings do not remain, may Allah protect us. Allah the Exalted called it usurped wealth (suhut) because it devours the blessing and the soul. Does the destruction of the earnings here mean that the earnings themselves disappear, or does it mean, for example, that they are lost, or that fire eats them, for example, a fire, or does it mean that their blessing is destroyed such that the person does not benefit from them in his life, or that Allah sends calamities upon this man that consume this earnings, such as illnesses in him or in his family, or the like? What do you say?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : It includes all of them, it includes all of them, for the forbidden earnings are destroyed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The two sellers have the option, so if they tell the truth and make clear, البيعان بالخِيار فإن صدقا وبينا
so long as they have not separated; and if they speak the truth and make everything clear they will be blessed in their transaction; but if they tell a lie and conceal anything the blessing on their transaction will be blotted out. ما لم يتفرقا فإن صدقا وبينا بورك لهما في بيعهما وإن كذبا وكتما محقت بركة بيعهما
Sahih Muslim 1532a
And how many people have a little wealth, but Allah has benefited them with it and benefited others through it. And how many people have wealth, but they did not benefit from it. Yes, it became, may Allah protect us, stingy, living the life of the poor, and he is what? Rich, because its blessing has been destroyed, may Allah protect us.
In this hadith is evidence that the oath, even if it deceives the person with the abundance of wealth, with the abundance of earnings, is a destroyer of the earnings. Its consequences are severe. And in it is evidence that the earnings resulting from something forbidden are from the major sins. And what is the evidence?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : The warning is great, that it is a destroyer of the earnings. And this is a warning in this world, and a warning in this world is evidence that this matter is from the major sins. Yes.

The questioner : Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Then he said: And from Salman
