Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions:
He said -may Allah have mercy on him-: "Chapter on the dislike of swearing oaths in sales, even if one is truthful:
It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:Sunan an-Nasa'i 4461 Agreed upon.
And it was narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:Sahih Muslim 1607 Narrated by Muslim ".
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author -may Allah have mercy on him- said in his book *Riyad al-Salihin*: "Chapter on the dislike of swearing oaths in sales, even if one is truthful": The meaning of this is that it is disliked for a person to swear an oath during buying and selling, even if he is truthful. For example, it is disliked for him to say: "By Allah, I bought it for one hundred," even if he is truthful. If he is lying, it becomes injustice upon injustice, may Allah protect us from that. If he says: "By Allah, I bought it for one hundred," but he did not buy it for anything other than eighty, it becomes more severe, because he is thereby lying and swearing an oath in the sale. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited that, and he informed, as in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah:Sunan an-Nasa'i 4461: The meaning is that even if the goods increase in value due to the oath, Allah removes its blessing and wipes out his profit, because this profit is built upon disobedience to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and disobedience to the Messenger is disobedience to Allah. Many people are afflicted in this matter. You find, for example, a person saying to a customer: "By Allah, it is good. By Allah, I bought it for such and such. By Allah, it is worth such and such." Whether he is truthful or lying, it is prohibited. Buy and sell without oaths, if you want Allah the Exalted to bless you in your earnings.
Likewise, the hadith of Abu Qatadah: it contains a warning against swearing oaths in sales,Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 12:2227: The two hadiths have the same meaning; both indicate that a person is prohibited from swearing oaths in sales.
The apparent meaning of the hadith is that there is no difference between swearing oaths frequently or not. However, since the person who is a seller and buyer, the merchant, is always swearing oaths, always selling and buying, some scholars interpreted it as referring to frequency, i.e., frequent swearing oaths during buying and selling. So, if a person wants Allah to provide him with sustenance, He will provide it to him without oaths. We ask Allah to provide us and you with lawful sustenance.

Beware of swearing; it produces a ready sale for a commodity, but blots out the blessing.
