Does a servant receive reward for his affliction if he is patient once and then accepts it, and sometimes thanks Allah when he remembers Allah’s blessing upon him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : O Shaykh, if he is patient, meaning it passes over him... and he accepts it... sometimes.

The Shaykh : In one single affliction, or what?

The questioner : In one single affliction, sometimes he sees that it has passed, sometimes he accepts and submits, and sometimes he thanks when he remembers...

The Shaykh : And the levels.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : It appears, if Allah wills, that he attains the rank of the thankful, or it is said that he attains the last description he was in.

The questioner : If it is ... .

The Shaykh : ... he moves about, he wants to settle in one state, and the common occurrence in such matters is that perfection is the end. That is, a person may be patient, then accept, then thank; this is the common occurrence. If we say that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Patience should come with the first shock. إنما الصبر عند الصدمة الأولى
Sunan Ibn Majah 1596Hasan (Darussalam)
We say that acceptance is at the first shock. If acceptance does not occur at the first shock, it becomes deficient. Yes, and Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) rewards every person according to what he did, and for every deed there is a reward according to what he did.
