The ruling on one who travels on an urgent mission and removes his ihram garments

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: A man put on his ihram garments after performing ghusl and applying perfume, then he was called to travel on an urgent mission and removed his clothes. What is his obligation?

Answer: This question requires detail. If the man mentioned had entered the state of ihram for the pilgrimage after putting on his ihram garments, meaning he intended to enter into Hajj or 'Umrah and then withdrew from that, and he removed his ihram garments for the mission mentioned, then he has not exited the state of ihram. He must put on his ihram garments again and head to Makkah as soon as he learns the ruling of the Shari'ah in this matter to complete his pilgrimage of Hajj or 'Umrah. He owes no expiation for what he did if he was ignorant.
However, if when he removed his ihram garments he did not intend to enter into the pilgrimage, but rather he had put on his ihram garments in preparation for it, and then he removed the clothes for the mission before intending to enter into the pilgrimage of Hajj or 'Umrah, then he owes nothing; because when he removed the clothes in the state described, he was not in the state of ihram. And Allah knows best.
