Continuation of the explanation of the author's (may Allah have mercy on him) statement: "... and he makes up the prayer of one whose mind is lost in sleep ..."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : But his mind is covered and he is deprived of his apparent sensation in any case. The meaning is that the sleeper makes up the prayer by explicit text and scholarly consensus. As for the text, it is both verbal and practical. The verbal is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
Whoever sleeps through a prayer or forgets it, let him pray it when he remembers it. من نام عن صلاة أو نسيها فليصلها إذا ذكرها
when he remembers it in forgetfulness and when he wakes up from sleep. And the practical is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made up the prayer when he slept through it; he made up the Fajr prayer when he slept through it during a journey. So, one makes up the prayer of one whose mind is lost in sleep. And because, if we also said that there is theoretical evidence—if we said that it is not made up despite frequent sleep—much of it would be missed, and that would be an incentive to be lax with it by sleeping through it. Because if he knows that he is not going to make it up, he will go to sleep a little before the Fajr prayer and not get up until after the 'Isha' prayer. What will be missed from him?
The attendees: ...

The Shaykh : Five prayers, but he makes them up by scholarly consensus.
