Reading the statement of Imam al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding what he transmitted: "

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: He (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "From 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
If you were to put your trust in Allah as you should, you would be given provision like the birds: they go out hungry in the morning and come back with full bellies in the evening. لو أنكم تتوكلون على الله حق توكله لرزقكم كما يرزق الطير تغدو خماصا وتروح بطانا
Musnad Ahmad 205[lts isnad is qawi] (Darussalam)
Al-Tirmidhi narrated it and said: It is a good hadith. Its meaning is: They go out at the beginning of the day hungry, meaning their bellies are shrunken from hunger, and they return at the end of the day with full bellies, meaning their bellies are filled."
