The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The Chapter on Certainty and Reliance upon Allah". The author combined them because reliance upon Allah is one of the fruits of certainty. Certainty is the strength of faith and steadfastness, such that a person sees with his own eyes what Allah and His Messenger have informed about, due to the intensity of his certainty. So certainty is steadfastness and faith without any doubt in any way. He sees the unseen about which Allah and His Messenger have informed as if it is present before him. This is the highest of the highest degrees of faith. This certainty yields noble fruits, among which is reliance upon Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Reliance upon Allah is a person's dependence on his Lord (Mighty and Majestic) in his outward and inward state, in seeking benefits and repelling harms. That he depends on Allah in his outward and inward state in seeking benefits and repelling harms.[At-Talaq 65:3] In these two levels, certainty and reliance upon Allah, a person achieves his objective in this world and the Hereafter, and he finds rest and lives in peace and happiness, because he is certain of everything that Allah and His Messenger have informed about, and he relies on Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
Then the author mentioned verses in this chapter, among which is the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Ahzab 33:22] (may Allah be pleased with them). The Ahzab (Confederates) were groups from multiple tribes who conspired against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and gathered to fight him. Approximately ten thousand fighters from Quraysh and others gathered and besieged the city to eliminate the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). A great crisis occurred for the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in this expedition. Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) described it by saying: [Al-Ahzab 33:10] due to the intensity of fear. [Al-Ahzab 33:10] the far-fetched suspicions. [Al-Ahzab 33:11] So the people divided in this great and severe crisis into two groups, and Allah (Mighty and Majestic) distinguished between them in these verses. He said: [Al-Ahzab 33:11-12] I seek refuge in Allah. The hypocrites who display faith outwardly but conceal disbelief inwardly, and those among the believers who have a disease in their hearts and a deficiency in their certainty. They said: [Al-Ahzab 33:12] They said, how can Muhammad say that he will conquer Kisra and Caesar and Sana'a, while he is now besieged by these people? How is this possible? So they said: [Al-Ahzab 33:12] As for the believers, Allah said about them:

And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him.
