The Shaykh : In what he quoted from Umm al-Mu’minin Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered upon her with his face flushed, saying:
None has the right to be worshipped but Allah. Woe to the Arabs, from the Great evil that is nearly approaching them.
Sahih al-Bukhari 7059
He entered upon her in this state, his color changed, his face flushed, saying:
There is no god but Allah.
Sunan Abi Dawud 3117
to affirm tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and to establish it, because tawhid is the foundation upon which all of the Shari'ah (Islamic sacred law) is built. Allah the Exalted said:
And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. And He the Exalted said: And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that there is no god but I, so worship Me. Thus, the tawhid of Allah through worship, love, magnification, turning to Him in repentance, reliance upon Him, seeking His help, and fear of Him, and other such things, is the foundation of the religion. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “There is no god but Allah,” in this state where he was in alarm and his color had changed, to establish tawhid and to reassure the hearts. Then he warned the Arabs, saying, “Woe to the Arabs from an evil that has drawn near.” He warned the Arabs because the Arabs are the bearers of the banner of Islam. Indeed, Allah the Exalted sent Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to the unlettered among the Arabs: “Who recites to them His verses and purifies them and teaches them the Book and wisdom, while before they were certainly in clear error. And [also] to others of them who have not yet joined them, and He is the Exalted, the Wise.” So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made this warning clear to the Arabs because they are the bearers of the banner of Islam, from an evil that has drawn near. The evil is that which will occur with Ya’juj and Ma’juj. For this reason, he explained it, saying, “Today has been opened a breach in the barrier of Ya’juj and Ma’juj like this,” and he pointed with his index finger and thumb, meaning that it is a small part. And yet, it threatens the Arabs. The Arabs, who have borne the banner of Islam from the time of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) until this day, are threatened by Ya’juj and Ma’juj, the corrupters in the land. As Allah the Exalted said regarding Dhul-Qarnayn, that it was said to him: “Indeed, Ya’juj and Ma’juj are corrupters in the land.” So they are the people of evil and corruption. Then Zaynab said, “O Messenger of Allah, will we perish while there are righteous people among us?” He said, “Yes, if the evil becomes widespread.” The righteous person does not perish; he is safe and successful. But if the evil becomes widespread, the righteous people will perish. As Allah the Exalted said: “And fear a trial that will not strike only those who wrong among you. And know that Allah is severe in punishment.” Here, “evil” (al-khabith) is intended to mean two things: first, evil deeds, and second, evil people. If evil and bad deeds become widespread in society, even if they are Muslims, they have exposed themselves to destruction. And if disbelievers become numerous among them, they have also exposed themselves to destruction. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) warned against the presence of Jews, Christians, and polytheists in the Arabian Peninsula. He warned against that and said, “Expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula.” And in his illness before his death, he said, “Expel the polytheists from the Arabian Peninsula.” And at the end of his life, he said, “If I remain, I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula,” or he said, “I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula until I leave no one but a Muslim.” This is how it is authentically reported from him (peace and blessings be upon him). And with great regret, now people seem to be racing to bring Jews, Christians, and polytheists to our lands for employment. Some of them claim that they are better than Muslims. I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan. Thus, Shaytan plays in the minds of some people until they prefer the disbeliever over the believer. And Allah Mighty and Majestic says: “And a believing slave is better than a polytheist, even though that might please you. They call to the Fire, but Allah calls to Paradise and forgiveness, by His permission, and He makes His verses clear to the people, that perhaps they will remember.” So beware, beware, beware, and beware of bringing Jews, Christians, and polytheists, such as Buddhists and others, to this Peninsula. Because it is an Islamic Peninsula, from which it began and to which it returns. How can we make these evil people among us, among our children, among our families, and in our society? This is a sign of destruction, and it is inevitable. For this reason, whoever reflects on our conditions today and compares them with our conditions in the past will find a great difference. He will find a great difference. And were it not for the good generation that Allah has blessed with commitment, and we ask Allah to keep them firm upon it, were it not for this, you would have seen much evil. But perhaps Allah will have mercy on us through His pardon and through these righteous young men who have a good revival. May Allah prolong His favor upon them and protect us and them from the accursed Shaytan.
