The Shaykh : He can be modest, even if he eats a piece of bread or a split date, and does not ask. And the person keeps asking people, asking people, asking people, until the Day of Resurrection comes and there is not a piece of flesh on his face. He comes on the Day of Resurrection with his face showing bones, and may Allah protect us, there is no flesh on it, because he has scraped his face for people in this world.
And in this is the condemnation of those people who go back and forth to people asking them, while they are wealthy. If they died, thousands would be found with them. There are thousands of gold, silver, old coins, and papers with them. And when you see them, you say: These are the poorest of people. They annoy people by asking, or they ask people when they have nothing, but they want to make their houses like the houses of the rich, their cars like the cars of the rich, and their clothing like the clothing of the rich. Who said this? This is foolishness,Sahih Muslim 2129, be content with what Allah has given you. If you are poor, then according to your condition, and if you are rich, then according to your condition.
As for competing with the rich and saying: I want a luxurious car, I want a spacious house, I want furnishings, then you go and ask people, whether you ask them directly before you buy these things that you bought, or you buy them and then you go and say: I have money, I have a debt, or something like that, all of this is wrong, a great error. Restrict yourself to what you have, to what your Lord (Mighty and Majestic) has given you, and ask Allah to provide you with a provision that does not make you arrogant, a provision that makes you independent of creation, and that is sufficient. We ask Allah for success and safety for us and for you.

The one who makes a false statement of that which one has not been given is like one who wears a garment of falsehood.
