The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, regarding what he quoted from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), that he said:Sahih al-Bukhari 5090
This means that the purposes for which a woman is generally married are these four:
Wealth: so that the husband may benefit from it.
Lineage: meaning that she is from a noble tribe, so that the husband may be elevated by her.
Beauty: so that the husband may enjoy her.
Religion: so that she helps him in his religion, preserves his trust, and cares for his children.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:Sunan Ibn Majah 1858Sahih (Darussalam) This means hold on to her and strive for her. He encouraged this by saying: This phrase is used by the Arabs to urge someone to do something.
Then the author also mentioned the hadith of Jibril, in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: ألا تزورنا أكثر مما تزورنا ؟ فنزلت: وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيّاً Do you not visit us more often than you do? So it was revealed: And We do not descend except by the command of your Lord. His is what is before us and what is behind us and what is between that. And your Lord is not forgetful
In this hadith, there is a request for the people of good to visit your home; you ask them to visit you so that you may benefit from their company.
Likewise, in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah, the company of a religious woman helps you in the religion of Allah.
It was also mentioned previously—in the last lesson—that the good companion is like a carrier of musk: either he gives you some, or he sells it to you, or you find a pleasant scent from him.
Then the author mentioned hadiths with this meaning, such as what is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), that he said:Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 33:79 This means that a person is in religion, and also in character, according to whom he keeps company. So let one look at whom he keeps company; if he keeps company with the people of good, he becomes one of them, and if he keeps company with others, he becomes like them.
The conclusion is that these hadiths and their like all indicate that a person should keep company with the good, and visit them and have them visit him, for the good that lies in that. And Allah is the One who grants success.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, regarding what he quoted from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), that he said:
A woman is married for four things, i.e., her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. So you should marry the religious woman

Lineage: meaning that she is from a noble tribe, so that the husband may be elevated by her.
Beauty: so that the husband may enjoy her.
Religion: so that she helps him in his religion, preserves his trust, and cares for his children.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
Choose the religious, may your hands be rubbed with dust (i.e., may you prosper).
فاظفر بذات الدين تَرِبت يداكMay your hands be dusted.
تربت يداكThen the author also mentioned the hadith of Jibril, in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: ألا تزورنا أكثر مما تزورنا ؟ فنزلت: وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيّاً Do you not visit us more often than you do? A man follows the religion of his close friend, so let one of you look at whom he befriends.
المرء على دين خليله فلينظر أحدكم من يخاللThe conclusion is that these hadiths and their like all indicate that a person should keep company with the good, and visit them and have them visit him, for the good that lies in that. And Allah is the One who grants success.
