Clarification of the obligation in the case of accidental killing and quasi-intentional killing

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: A man has the expiation for accidental killing due to him, and he intended to fast for two consecutive months. He fasted four days of them, and then he was told about freeing a slave, so he freed one. At that point, he stopped fasting. Is there anything due to him for that? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer: The obligation in the case of accidental killing and quasi-intentional killing is to free a believing slave. Whoever does not find one must fast for two consecutive months; for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: :
And never is it for a believer to kill a believer except by mistake. And whoever kills a believer by mistake - then the freeing of a believing slave and a compensation payment presented toوَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ أَن يَقْتُلَ مُؤْمِنًا إِلاَّ خَطَئًا وَمَن قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا خَطَئًا فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍ وَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ
[An-Nisa 4:92]
until He, the Exalted, said:
And whoever does not find [one or cannot afford to buy one] - then [instead], a fast for two months consecutively, [seeking] acceptance of repentance from Allah. And Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.
[Surat al-Nisa: 92].
If one begins fasting and then finds a slave and frees it, that suffices him, and he owes nothing; he is not required to complete the fast. And success is from Allah.
