Is it established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he prayed the regular voluntary prayers (rawatib) that occur between two combined prayers?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pray the regular voluntary prayers (rawatib) when combining two prayers?

The Shaykh : It is not reported from the Messenger (peace be upon him) that he prayed the voluntary prayer between the two combined prayers, such as between Dhuhr and Asr, or between Maghrib and Isha. Therefore, we say that it is not part of the Sunnah, as long as this has not been reported from the Messenger (peace be upon him). This is the first point. Second, if one were to insert a voluntary prayer between them, this insertion would negate the true meaning of combining the prayers. This is sufficient.

The questioner : Two light questions, O Shaykh, by the grace of Allah.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.
