The reader: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) transmitted, in the context of the hadiths in the chapter on the virtue of walking to the mosques: "Narrated by Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 662 Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
And from Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:Riyad as-Salihin 1058 Narrated by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi.
And from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: إذا رأيتم الرجل يعتاد المساجد فاشهدوا له بالإيمان، قال الله عز وجل : إنما يعمر مساجد الله مَن آمن بالله واليوم الآخر When you see a man who makes it a habit to frequent the mosques, bear witness to his faith. Allah the Mighty and Majestic said: Only those who believe in Allah and the Last Day keep the mosques of Allah in repair The verse. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, who said: A good hadith".
The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
These are the remaining hadiths regarding the virtue of walking to the mosques. He mentioned the first hadith: that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:Sahih Muslim 662 : This is because, as previously mentioned, when a person purifies himself in his home and goes out to the mosque, nothing drives him out except the prayer, he does not take a step but that Allah raises him thereby a degree and removes from him thereby a sin, and the angels continue to pray for him as long as he remains in his place of prayer. So if your home is far from the mosque and the distance does not prevent you from attending the congregation, then you have a greater reward than the one who is close, because the one who is close does not have an excuse of proximity that makes it easy for him to reach the mosque, and the one who is far may have some excuse due to his distance, yet he endures the distance and attends the mosque and prays with the congregation, so this is better. Then he mentioned: : This is regarding the 'Isha' prayer, for it is prescribed that the 'Isha' prayer be delayed until the last third of the night, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: : So as for the one who prayed alone and slept, because it is difficult for him to wait for the congregational prayer since they delay it, we say: if you wait and pray with the congregation, it is better. But if the imam prays at the usual time, it is not permissible for a person to pray and then sleep, because the congregational prayer is obligatory, to the extent that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Sunan Ibn Majah 791Sahih (Darussalam) .
Then he mentioned the hadith that al-Tirmidhi narrated, saying:Sunan Abi Dawud 561Sahih (Al-Albani) : This hadith is weak, but there is no doubt that the one who goes to the mosque on days of darkness will receive a reward of the same kind as his action, meaning that just as he endured the darkness and came to the mosques, light will be recorded for him on the Day of Resurrection. And weaker than it is the hadith that follows: إذا رأيتم الرجل يعتاد المسجد فاشهدوا له بالإيمان فإن الله يقول : إنما يعمر مساجد الله من آمن بالله واليوم الآخر وأقام الصلاة وآتى الزكاة ولم يخش إلا الله If you see a man who makes it a habit to frequent the mosque, then testify to his faith, for Allah says: Only those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish prayer, give zakah, and fear no one but Allah, keep the mosques of Allah in repair. : This is also weak and its attribution to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) is not authentic.
But what has been mentioned previously of authentic and clear hadiths regarding the virtue of walking to the mosques is sufficient. We ask Allah to grant us and you sincerity in action and conformity to what He, the Exalted and Majestic, is pleased with.

The most eminent among human beings (as a recipient of) reward (is one) who lives farthest away, and who has to walk the farthest distance, and he who waits for the prayer to observe it along with the Imam, his reward is greater than one who prays (alone) and then goes to sleep.
And from Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said:
Convey glad tidings to those who walk to the mosque in the darkness. For they will be given full light on the Day of Resurrection.
He prayed one day when most of the night had passed, he prayed 'Isha' and said: It is indeed its time, were it not that I would cause difficulty for my Ummah
I was thinking of commanding that the call to prayer be given, then I would tell a man to lead the people in prayer, then I would go out with some other men carrying bundles of wood, and go to people who do not attend the prayer, and burn their houses down around them.
Then he mentioned the hadith that al-Tirmidhi narrated, saying:
Give good tidings to those who walk to the mosques in darkness for having a perfect light on the Day of Judgment.
