Chapter on the virtue of Friday, its obligation, bathing for it, applying perfume, hastening to it, supplicating on Friday, sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on that day, and explaining the hour of response, and the recommendation to increase the remembrance of Allah the Exalted after Friday

The reciter: “Chapter on the virtue of Friday, its obligation, bathing for it, applying perfume, hastening to it, supplicating on Friday, sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on that day, explaining the hour of response, and the recommendation to increase the remembrance of Allah the Exalted after Friday:
Allah the Exalted said:

And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah often that you may succeed.

فإذا قُضِيت الصلاة فانتشروا في الأرض وابتغوا من فضل الله واذكروا الله كثيرًا لعلكم تفلحون

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he. was expelled from it.

خير يوم طلعت عليه الشمس يوم الجمعة : فيه خُلق آدم، وفيه أدخل الجنة، وفيه أُخرج منها

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his book *Riyad al-Salihin*: “Chapter on the virtue of Friday”: and he mentioned some of the characteristics of the day of Friday:
The day of Friday is the day between Thursday and Saturday, and it is the day by which this Ummah was distinguished, and Allah led the Jews and Christians astray from it. The Jews had Saturday, and the Christians had Sunday, so they followed us even though they were before us in time. This is among the virtues of this Ummah, and praise be to Allah. This day is the day of characteristics, and Saturday and Sunday do not have such characteristics. But the Jews and Christians were led astray from the day of Friday, so it became ours, and praise and grace be to Allah.
The day of Friday has multiple characteristics, and one of the best to mention them is Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) in *Zad al-Ma'ad*, so refer to it, for it is sufficient.
Then the author (may Allah have mercy on him) began this chapter with the words of Allah the Exalted: And this was the last verse that preceded it, which is His saying: : So Allah addressed the believers to leave selling when the call to prayer is made on the day of Friday. What is meant is the second call, which occurs when the imam is present. As for the first call: when 'Uthman ibn 'Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) saw that the people in Madinah had increased, he ordered that a preceding adhan be called so that the people would prepare to attend. So this was from the Sunnah of the Rightly Guided Caliph 'Uthman, whom we were commanded to follow his Sunnah, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: .
And those who said that it is an innovation have gone astray, and they disparaged the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and disparaged the Rightly Guided Caliph. And we say to him: You are the innovator with this statement in which you claimed that this is an innovation. How can it be an innovation when the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) named it a Sunnah? : But these are foolish dreamers, even if they are old in age. How do you mislead the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) with their leader 'Uthman ibn 'Affan, and claim that you are the one who possesses the Sunnah? No, you are the one who possesses the innovation with this statement.
He, the Exalted and Majestic, says: And what is meant by the remembrance of Allah is the khutbah and the prayer. As for the khutbah, Allah is remembered in it through the tashahhud, mentioning rulings, admonition, and other things. And as for the remembrance of Allah through the prayer, that is apparent.
: Leave selling. Therefore, when the call to prayer is made on the day of Friday, selling is forbidden except for those upon whom it is not obligatory, such as women, for example. And as for those upon whom Friday is obligatory, selling is forbidden for them. Even if they sell, it is invalid, even if they are on their way to the mosque and hear the adhan for Friday, and they have a companion with them and they trade with each other, the sale is invalid. The sold item does not transfer to the buyer, nor does the price transfer to the seller, because it is invalid. And everything that Allah has forbidden is invalid, due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): , and His saying: : This includes the traveler. The traveler who is in the town, when he hears the adhan for Friday, must attend Friday because he is a believer. So who excluded him? If he says: I am a traveler, we say: Are you not a believer? He will say: Yes. If he says: Yes, we say: Listen: meaning: It is better for you than selling, because it involves establishing one of the symbols of Islam and fulfilling an obligation, so it is better than selling. meaning: If you are among those with knowledge, know that it is better. What is meant by this conditional phrase is the encouragement to leave selling and head to Friday. meaning: You have a dispensation. Disperse in the land and seek the bounty of Allah in buying and selling, but do not let that distract you from the remembrance of Allah. Therefore He said: meaning: Do not think that when you are finished with the remembrance of Allah through the khutbah and the prayer, you have finished with the remembrance of Allah. No, the remembrance of Allah is in every state, at every time, and in every place. Allah the Exalted said: Who are those of understanding? : So the conclusion is that when the prayer is completed, there is no obligatory sitting afterwards. Go out, seek provision, seek the bounty of Allah. And in this is an indication that if a person prioritizes the prayer over buying and selling, and then buys and sells afterwards, he will be provided for, because He said: : And in this is an indication that there is no khutbah after the Friday prayer, because Allah said: : There is no khutbah, no speech, and no admonition. The admonitions in the khutbah before the prayer are sufficient, and that which was prescribed by the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Therefore Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “If someone speaks after the prayer, do not listen to him unless it is a letter from the ruler”, because the letters directed from the ruler must be listened to by the subjects, because the ruler has a right over the subjects to direct them and guide them to good. As for other advice, the two khutbahs are sufficient. The best guidance is the guidance of whom? Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and he did not give a khutbah after the prayer, and that was not narrated from him in any authentic or weak hadith. Some people make it a regular practice; whenever the Friday prayer ends, he stands and speaks, so how many khutbahs are there in Friday? How many?
