The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
These hadiths are in this chapter that al-Nawawi -may Allah have mercy on him- established in his book *Riyad al-Salihin*: in the miscellaneous and appendices:
What preceded regarding the mention of the Dajjal and Gog and Magog, and the mention of hadiths in this session indicating that the Prophet's city, may Allah increase it in honor and magnification: that its people will leave it, : the beasts and birds are safe, there is no one in it, but this has not happened yet, and what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) informed about will happen, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in matters of the unseen does not speak from desire, it is revealed to him.
And among them is the abundance of wealth, where the Prophet (may the prayer and peace of Allah be upon him) informed:Mishkat al-Masabih 5441 : meaning that he spends without counting due to the abundance of wealth.
And among them is also the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), and this is not from the signs of the Hour, but it is from the appendices: : this indicates their scrupulousness, each one is scrupulous and says: this wealth is not for me.
: so in this is evidence that there are among people those who are scrupulous to this extent.
As for the ruling of this issue, the scholars -may Allah have mercy on them- said: " If a person sells a piece of land to someone and the buyer finds something buried in it, such as gold or otherwise, he does not own it by virtue of owning the land, but it belongs to the seller, and if the seller bought it from another, it belongs to the first one, because this buried item is not part of the land, unlike minerals; if he buys a piece of land and finds a mineral in it, such as gold, silver, iron, copper, or otherwise, it follows the land " , this is from the appendices.
And among them is also the hadith of Abu Hurayrah regarding the story of two women who came out with their two sons, so the wolf ate the son of one of them, and the son of the other remained, so each of them said: he is mine, the older one saying: he is mine, and the younger one saying: he is mine, so they referred the matter to Dawud (peace be upon him), and he judged it for the older one by his independent legal reasoning, because the older one might have stopped having children, and the younger one is young and will have children in the future, so he gave it to the older one, then they went out from him to Sulayman ibn Dawud, so they informed him of the news, so he called for a knife and said: I will cut it in half between you, as for the older one, she was pleased, and as for the younger one, she refused, she said: Do not do that, may Allah have mercy on you, he is her son, compassion overtook her, because he is truly her son, he is for the younger one and not for the older one, the older one did not care about him because he is the son of another and it does not matter to her that he goes as her son who was eaten by the wolf went, but the younger one was overcome by mercy and said: he is hers, O Prophet of Allah, so he judged it for the younger one, by what evidence? By the indication, because her showing mercy to this child and saying he is for the older one and remains alive, even if he will be with another, but his remaining alive, even if with another, is less severe than cutting him in half, so he judged it for the younger one.
The scholars took from this hadith the practice of acting on indications, and that it is permissible for the judge to rule based on indications if they are strong, and among that is what happened between the wife of al-Aziz and Yusuf ibn Ya'qub (peace and blessings be upon them both).
Yusuf ibn Ya'qub, it is known that he was imprisoned in prison, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was very beautiful: : half of the beauty of people is in Yusuf.
So the wife of al-Aziz, and she was a woman of a king, having lineage and status, but she was unable to control herself until she schemed against him, and plotted against him, and brought him into the house, and locked the doors and called him to herself, refuge with Allah, but Allah protected him (Mighty and Majestic), so she caught him and he pulled her by her garment, and the garment tore, from the back or from the front?
The student: From the back.
The Shaykh : From the back, and they found her master, meaning: her husband, at the door, , so she said: [Yusuf 12:25] : this happened before the imprisonment, [Yusuf 12:26] : she tried to seduce me: and this was before he was imprisoned, he has no evidence, and the woman caught him while he was trying to leave, and who will be believed? Who will be the one believed in this situation? The wife of al-Aziz, because she is a woman of lineage and the wife of the king, so she cannot humiliate herself for a servant, but: [Yusuf 12:26] : so a judge from the household ruled, he said: Look at his shirt, his garment: [Yusuf 12:26-27] , because if it was torn from the front, then he was the one who sought her and she wanted to get rid of him and tore his garment, and if it was torn from the back, then he fled from her and she caught him, [Yusuf 12:28] and the truthful one became? The truthful one became Yusuf, and he had no witness to testify, but the indication points to his truthfulness, and this is undoubtedly a useful rule for the judge and for other than the judge who is given judgment between people, to act on indications, clear indications, and success is from Allah.
And from him it was narrated that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: They will leave Madinah in its best state, and none will visit it except the beasts of prey and birds, meaning the beasts of prey and birds, and the last to be gathered will be two shepherds from Muzinah who intend to go to Madinah, calling to their sheep, and they will find it full of wild animals, until when they reach the Thaniyat al-Wada' they will fall on their faces
And from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
From your caliphs there will be one in the Last Days who will distribute wealth without counting it.
يكون خليفة مِن خلفائكم في آخر الزمان يحثو المال ولا يعدهAnd from Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A time will come when a man will go about with alms from his gold and will not find anyone to receive it. One man will be seen being followed by forty women dependant upon him on account of the scarcity of men and excess of women.
And from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who said:
A man bought a piece of land from another man, and the buyer found a jar filled with gold in the land. The buyer said to the seller: 'Take your gold, as I bought only the land from you and not the gold.' The owner of the land said: 'I sold you the land with everything in it.' So both of them took their case before a third man who asked: 'Have you any children?' One of them said: 'I have a boy.' The other said, 'I have a girl.' The man said: 'Marry the girl to the boy and spend the money on them;
And from him (may Allah be pleased with him): that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
There were two women, each had her child with her. A wolf came and took away the child of one of them. One woman said to her companion: 'The wolf has taken your son.' The other said: 'It has taken your son.' So both of them took the dispute to Prophet Dawud (David) (ﷺ) who judged that the boy should be given to the older lady. Then they went to Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon) (ﷺ) son of Dawud and put the case before him. Prophet Sulaiman said: 'Give me a knife so that I may cut the child into two and give one half to each of you.' The younger woman said: 'Do not do so; may Allah bless you! He is her child.' On that Prophet Sulaiman decided the case in favour of the younger woman.
