Explanation of the Book of Marriage-01

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said: "It is narrated from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us, the Messenger of Allah said to us" "To us" means to us, we the young, minor men among the Companions. He said:
O group يا معشر
"Ma'ashir" means: a group.
And his saying:
of youth الشباب
Here, "al-shabab" is the plural of "shab" (young man), and it is possible that it is a verbal noun, in which case "ma'ashir" means: O companions of youth. The term "shab" is applied to one who has passed puberty up to thirty years of age, and some said: up to forty years, then he becomes a middle-aged man, then an old man.
Young man, those of you who can support a wife should marry يا معشر الشباب من استطاع منكم الباءة فليتزوج
Mishkat al-Masabih 3080
And youth were specifically addressed because they are the ones who need what he directed them to,
whoever among you can afford it, let him get married من استطاع منكم الباءة فليتزوج
Sunan an-Nasa'i 3211Sahih (Darussalam)
for the desire in them is greater than the desire in the old men.
Narrated 'Alqamah: It was narrated that 'Alqamah said: "I was walking with 'Abdullah in Mina and he was met by 'Uthman who stood with him and spoke with him. He said: 'O Abu Abdur-Rahman! Shall I not marry you to a young girl? Perhaps she will remind you of when you were younger?' 'Abdullah said: 'As you say that (it reminds me that) the Messenger of Allah said to us: O young men, whoever among you can afford it, let him get married.'" من استطاع منكم الباءة
Sunan an-Nasa'i 3211Sahih (Darussalam)
Meaning: he is able to afford the cost of marriage, and what is meant by "al-ba'ah" here is: marriage. This includes physical ability and financial ability, because if a young man does not have physical ability, he has no need for marriage. And if he has physical ability but does not have money, he does not have the capacity for marriage. But someone might say: The meaning of "ability" here is: financial ability, based on his saying:
and whoever cannot then he should fast ومن لم يستطع فعليه بالصوم
Sunan an-Nasa'i 3208Sahih (Darussalam)
For this indicates that the one addressed has physical capacity but does not have financial capacity. And his saying:
let him get married فليتزوج
This is the answer to "whoever," and it was connected with "fa" (so) because the clause serving as the answer is a request, and it is a present tense verb. How? It is a request, and it is a present tense verb, O brothers, yes, because it is connected with the letter of command, "fa li-yatazawwaj" (so let him get married).
let him get married, for it is فليتزوج فإنه
Meaning: marriage,
for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding one's chastity أغض للبصر وأحصن للفرج
Sunan an-Nasa'i 2242Sahih (Darussalam)
, and he did not say: "and it increases offspring," even though it increases offspring, because the greatest concern of most young men is what leads to lowering the gaze, what? And guarding the private parts. For this reason, you find that those who congratulate him on his marriage do not immediately think in their minds that they are congratulating him because he found a field in which to sow and have children. Rather, they might say: he should delay having children for two, three, or four years. They congratulate him for the sake of what leads to lowering the gaze and guarding the private parts. For this reason, the Prophet (may the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) did not mention the great benefit, which is what? The increase of offspring, because he is addressing the youth, and the most important things for them are these two matters.
for it is more effective in lowering the gaze فإنه أغض للبصر
And "ghad" is reduction, it is reduction, meaning: it restrains the gaze from looking at women. And this is a tested and observed fact, that when a person gets married, he lowers his gaze from looking at women. As for before that, he fears that he will continue to look at women based on this instinct that Allah has created in him. And although a person may have enough faith to prevent him:
Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision قُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ
[An-Nur 24:30]
And although he has not married, the majority are like this.
And his saying:
and more protective of the private parts أحصن للفرج
Meaning: more protective. And from this, the fortress is named, because it protects those inside it.
It is a safeguard for the private parts أحصن للفرج
Meaning: more protective from what? From the forbidden, from fornication. It prevents a person from fornication. And for this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered a man, when he sees something he likes in a woman, to go to his family and said:
Indeed, what is with her is like what is with you إن ما معها مثل الذي معها
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 6:1166
Meaning: with your family, like the one that pleased you.
for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and protecting one's chastity. Whoever cannot afford it فإنه أغض للبصر وأحصن للفرج ، ومن لم يستطع
Sunan an-Nasa'i 2239Sahih (Darussalam)
What? Where is the object? It is omitted. Its estimation is: the cost of marriage.
Let him fast فعليه بالصوم
"Alayhi" here is a preposition and its object, intended for encouragement, meaning: so let him adhere to fasting. And what is meant by fasting here is: abstaining from food and drink in worship of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) from the rising of the dawn to the setting of the sun. Meaning: what is meant by fasting here is: the legal fast, not the linguistic fast, because the linguistic fast here has no meaning. And because the established rule is that the speech of every speaker is understood according to his custom. So if the speech comes from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it is understood according to the legal custom because he is the legislator. But if it came to us from a linguist, we would understand it according to the linguistic meaning.
Okay, he says:
should fast, for it will be فعليه بالصوم فإنه له
Sunan an-Nasa'i 2241Sahih (Darussalam)
I am not, it is possible, for it is for him, yes... for it is a restraint for him, yes, we stop here.

The questioner : Banks that do not pay interest...

The Shaykh : No.

The questioner : ...
