Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A person intends to commit a sin and at the same time intends that when he finishes committing this sin, he will repent to Allah. Will this repentance be accepted or not?

The Shaykh : If he commits the sin with this intention, then this intention will not benefit him and will not reduce the punishment for the sin from him. But if he commits the sin and then repents with sincere repentance, Allah the Exalted will accept it, by the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."
[Az-Zumar 39:53]
