Is it permissible for a son to demand that his father fulfill his gift to him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Is it permissible for a son to demand that his father fulfill his gift to him, forcing his father to do so?

A: He does not have that right, because that contradicts what the aforementioned hadith indicates, and because that is undutifulness to parents. Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has forbidden undutifulness to parents and made it one of the greatest of major sins, as established in the two Sahihs from Abu Bakrah al-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Should I not inform you about the gravest of the major sins
Sahih Muslim 88b
We said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said:
The major sins are associating others with Allah, disobeying the parents
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3021Sahih (Darussalam)
And he was reclining, so he sat up and said:
Beware of false speech, and beware of false testimony
.
Therefore, it is obligatory for the child, whether male or female, to guard against undutifulness to his or her parents, and to strive to be dutiful to them, for this authentic hadith and for the saying of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He):
And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment
[Surat al-Isra: 23] and His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He):
Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.
[Surat Luqman: 14]. The evidence from the Book and the Sunnah in this matter is abundant.
