Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is your opinion on using this formula in supplication: “O Allah, I ask You by Your beautiful, pure, exalted, hidden, and reserved name”?

The Shaykh : This is a religious innovation, and Allah is not supplicated to with it. Rather, one should say: “O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, O Bestower of Grace, O Creator of the heavens and the earth, O Knower of the unseen and the witnessed,” and the like of what the Sunnah has brought.
As for these newly invented formulas, beware, beware of them.
