Explanation of the Qudsi Hadith: "Whoever opposes one of My awliya (close friends of Allah)"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Does the hadith -
I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a pious worshipper of Mineمن عادى لي ولياً
Sahih al-Bukhari 6502
- imply that some of the awliya are known?
The messengers are certainly among the awliya of Allah, the prophets are among the awliya of Allah, and the believers are among the awliya of Allah. Every believer is among the awliya of Allah. So whoever opposes the believers has opposed the awliya of Allah. Whoever opposes those who are steadfast in obedience to Allah has opposed the awliya of Allah. They are believers, but a person does not certify himself, saying: "I am a wali of Allah," because he does not know; he may have fallen short. But in reality, the believers are the awliya of Allah; those who obey Allah and follow His Shari'ah are the awliya of Allah.
