Question:
If a woman performs sa'y (walking between al-Safa and al-Marwah) before tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka'bah)?

Answer:
The prescribed practice is for her to remain until she performs tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka'bah), with sa'y (walking between al-Safa and al-Marwah) coming after tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka'bah). This is sufficient according to the correct opinion, but the prescribed practice for her is to remain until she becomes pure, then perform tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka'bah) and sa'y (walking between al-Safa and al-Marwah).
It is authentic from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he was asked: “O Messenger of Allah, I performed sa'y (walking between al-Safa and al-Marwah) before I performed tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka'bah)?” He said:
There is no harm.لا حرج
, but the Sunnah (recommended practice) is for the believer to perform tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka'bah) and then sa'y (walking between al-Safa and al-Marwah), as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did. And the menstruating woman remains until she becomes pure, and when she becomes pure, she performs tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka'bah) and sa'y (walking between al-Safa and al-Marwah).
Q: Is the hadith of the questioner specific to performing sa'y (walking between al-Safa and al-Marwah) before tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka'bah) in Hajj (the major pilgrimage)?
A: The Messenger did not ask the questioner for details.
