Ways of Repelling Whispers in Acts of Worship

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first message in this episode is from one of the female listeners, who says: Your sister in Allah (S. A.), our sister has two cases. In her first case, she says: I complain, O Shaykh, of the abundance of whispers (waswas) during wudu, and when reciting al-Fatihah and the tashahhud. Since I was afflicted with these whispers, I have not known khushu' in my prayer because of them, nor do I feel at ease. I am afraid that my prayer will not be accepted. My mother gets very angry with me if she sees me prolonging the prayer more than necessary, and perhaps she has discovered this condition. Please guide us, O honorable Shaykh, may Allah reward you with good?
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows:
My advice to you, O sister in Allah, is to fear Allah and to beware of the enemy of Allah, Shaytan; for his schemes are many and his provocations are varied. It is obligatory upon you to be cautious of that. So, fear Allah in your prayer, your wudu, and your recitation. Beware of Shaytan's whispers: when you perform wudu, do not repeat it. Be certain that you have performed wudu, and praise be to Allah. Likewise, in prayer, do not repeat the prayer; be certain that you have prayed, and praise be to Allah. And likewise in recitation, continue in your recitation and do not repeat it; be certain that you have recited, and praise be to Allah. Do not let what Shaytan dictates to you in the form of whispers lead you to repeat the recitation, the prayer, or the wudu. Know that this is from Shaytan. What you believe in your mind—that you recited as it should be, or that you prayed, or that you performed wudu—is sufficient. Leave the whisper that you did not recite, did not pray, or did not perform wudu. Leave this whisper and beware of it. Build your affairs on the basis that you have recited, that you have performed wudu, and that you have prayed, and praise be to Allah. Continue with your other activities. And beware of being soft or lenient with the enemy of Allah. Do not be soft with him. When you are soft, he will covet you, harass you, and perhaps make you counted among the insane. So, fear Allah and beware of the enemy of Allah, and leave the whispers. Hasten to perform wudu without delay and prayer without delay, with tranquility in the prayer and turning to it, with thoroughness in the wudu, but without repetition and without redoing the wudu. Likewise in recitation, be tranquil in your recitation and reflect upon it without the need for repetition. Do not say: "I did not recite, I will repeat the recitation," or "I did not pray, I will repeat," or "I did not perform wudu, I will redo it." All of this is from Shaytan. We ask Allah to protect us and you from Shaytan. Yes.
The presenter: O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good.
