The Ruling on Eating What a Trained Dog or Falcon Has Hunted

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
He says: I hope that the Shaykh, may Allah preserve him, will issue a ruling for me regarding the prey of a hunting dog or a trained falcon, whether it is alive or dead after being hunted. May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: If the trained dog kills it, it is permissible. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
And if you find it dead, eat itوإن وجدته قتيلًا فكل
The point is that if the dog kills it, or if the falcon kills it by sending the falcon or the dog to kill the prey, it is permissible, praise be to Allah, unless it eats from it. If it eats from it, you should not eat it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
but if the dog eats of (that game) then do not eat it because the dog has hunted it for itselfإذا أكل فلا تأكل فإنما صاد لنفسه
Sahih al-Bukhari 175
However, if it kills it and does not eat from it, it is permissible for us and permissible for the one who hunted it. Yes.
