The ruling on one who breaks the fast for days in Ramadan whose number he does not know

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We move on to a message received by the program from one of the female listeners, Umm 'Abd al-Rahman. Umm 'Abd al-Rahman has a collection of questions, and in one of them she says: She is a woman in her twenty-fifth year who, in the past of her life, did not make up the days she broke her fast for in Ramadan, and she does not remember the duration with precision. She does not know if, during that period when she did not fast, she was praying or not. She continued in this state and describes herself as ignorant, and she asks the Shaykh for guidance?

Answer:
You must repent to Allah and make up the days based on your estimate. You make up the days you broke your fast for based on your estimate, even if you do so separately without consecutiveness; you fast and then break the fast, and you fast again, until you complete the number according to your estimate; one month, two months, three months, according to what you estimate the days you broke your fast for in past years to be. You make them up with repentance and seeking forgiveness, and with feeding a poor person for each day if you are able. If you are poor and cannot afford it, then fasting is sufficient and there is no need for feeding. But if you are able, then feed for each poor person one day’s worth for ten days, which is five sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg); for twenty days, ten sa'; and so on. For each day, it is half a sa'. This is collected and given to some of the poor or to a poor household, and praise be to Allah. Repentance wipes out what came before it, and praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
