I observe that the imams of the congregational mosques consistently recite the surahs "Al-A'la" and "Al-Ghashiyah" on Fridays, to the point where people almost assume that reciting these two surahs is obligatory rather than a recommended practice. They should not persist in this practice so that some people do not think it is obligatory, and so that the imam allows the worshippers to hear other surahs and verses from the Book of Allah that contain admonition, or which may have a specific relevance mentioned in the sermon.

Reciting these two surahs in the Friday and 'Id prayers is a recommended practice (sunnah), because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite them. If the imam recites other surahs at times, there is no harm in that, so that people know that reciting these two is not obligatory.
