The ruling on using a misbaha to complete the dhikr of the prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is your opinion, Your Eminence, regarding the use of a misbaha to complete the dhikr of the prayer, and is it a bid'ah (religious innovation)?

Answer:
It is not recommended to use a misbaha; leaving it off is better and safer, and tasbih with the fingers is better. However, it is permissible for him to recite tasbih with something like pebbles, a misbaha, or date pits, provided he leaves it in his house so that people do not imitate him. Some of the Salaf used to do this, and the matter is broad, but the fingers are better in every place, and it is best to use the right hand. As for having it in his hand and in the mosques, that is not recommended; at the very least, it is makruh (disliked).
