Ruling on Hiring Disbelieving Workers and Neglecting Muslims

Question:
Noble Shaykh, the questioner makes a comparison or balance between Muslim and non-Muslim workers, saying: "The non-Muslims are people of trust, and I can rely on them; their demands are few, and their work is successful. As for those [Muslims], they are the exact opposite. What is your opinion, Your Eminence?"

Answer:
These are not truly Muslims; these people claim Islam. As for the true Muslims, they are more deserving and more entitled, and they are more trustworthy and more truthful than the disbelievers.
And what you said is wrong; you should not say it. If the disbelievers are truthful with you and fulfill their trust until they realize their benefit with you, and until they take the money from our Muslim brothers, then this is for their benefit. They did not display this for your benefit, but for their own benefit; so that they may take the money and so that you may be inclined toward them.
Therefore, it is obligatory for you not to hire anyone but the good among the Muslims. If you see Muslims who are not upright, advise them and guide them. If they become upright, fine; otherwise, return them to their countries and hire others. Demand of the agent who selects for you that he selects good people known for trustworthiness, known for prayer, and known for uprightness. He should not hire just anyone.
Many people claim Islam while they are disbelievers, not Muslims, such as the hypocrites. But you, as business owners, must hire the good ones and not be deceived by these disbelievers who put on a show for you and display to you what makes you inclined toward them, such as trustworthiness, truthfulness, and the like.
This is not befitting of you. Rather, your Muslim brothers are more deserving of your money and more deserving of your service. If there is any deficiency from them, guide them, teach them, and monitor them until they become upright.
There is no doubt that this is from the deception of Satan when he tells you: "These disbelievers are better than the Muslims, or more trustworthy, or so and so." It is all because of the great evil that the enemy of Allah and his soldiers know in hiring disbelievers and employing them instead of Muslims. Therefore, he makes them appealing to you and beautifies their hiring for you; so that you may neglect the Muslims and hire the enemies of Allah, preferring the worldly life over the Hereafter. There is no power and no strength except with Allah.
It has reached me that some of them say: "The Muslims pray and neglect work because of prayer, while the disbelievers do not pray, so they come with more work."
This is also of the same kind as what came before it. It is a great affliction to criticize the Muslims for praying and to hire disbelievers because they do not pray. Where is the faith? Where is the mindfulness of Allah? Where is the fear of Allah? To criticize your Muslim brothers for praying!
