Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He also asks and says: Are perfumes, henna, kohl, and other things of this kind a nullifier of the fast for the fasting person, or not?

Answer:
These matters do not nullify the fast. Kohl, henna, and perfuming do not nullify the fast. However, if a woman delays applying kohl until night, that is better and more cautious. Likewise, if perfumes contain incense, the fasting man or woman should not sniff it. One should not sniff the incense from agarwood into his nose, but there is no harm in perfuming his clothes. He should not sniff it, because it nullifies the fast according to a group of scholars if he sniffs it, because sniffing has an effect on the brain and other parts. Therefore, one should not sniff incense, nor the powdered types of perfume that fly into the brain when inhaled.
As for ordinary perfumes, ordinary oils, such as agarwood oil, rose oil, amber oil, and their like, these are perfumes with which there is no harm for the fasting person or anyone else. Yes.
