The Form of the Regular Voluntary Prayer Before the Midday Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner says: Regarding the voluntary prayer before the midday prayer, does it have a middle sitting for the testimony, or is it four consecutive units? Please inform us; may Allah reward you.

Answer:
The recommended practice is two units, two units. One prays two units, then says the closing salam, then two units, then says the closing salam. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Prayer by night and day should consist of pairs of rak'ahs.صلاة الليل والنهار مثنى مثنى
Sunan Abi Dawud 1295Sahih (Al-Albani)
So, four units before the midday prayer with two closings, and four units after it with two closings. If one prays only two units after it as the regular voluntary prayer, there is no harm. If one adds and prays four units after it, that is better, based on his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever prays regularly four Rak'at before and four Rak'at after the Zuhr prayer, Allah will forbid for him (from entering) the Hellfire.من حافظ على أربع قبل الظهر، وأربع بعدها؛ حرمه الله على النار
Bulugh al-Maram 2:262
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
He prays four units before it and two units after itيصلي أربعًا قبلها، وثنتين بعدها
this regular voluntary prayer.
So, if one adds and prays four units before it and four units after it, making it eight units—four before and four after—that is better, and he has this good:
And in the narration of al-Khamsah, by her [Umm Habibah (RA)]: "Whoever prays regularly four Rak'at before and four Rak'at after the Zuhr prayer, Allah will forbid for him (from entering) the Hellfire."من حافظ على أربع قبل الظهر، وأربع بعدها؛ حرمه الله تعالى على النار
Bulugh al-Maram 2:262
Yes, but it should be done in pairs of two, saying the closing salam after every two units. This is the recommended practice.

The presenter : Yes, may Allah reward you with good.
