Ruling on combining two prayers for the sake of work

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling on one who combines two prayers for the sake of work? And is it true that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) combined two prayers?

Answer:
He has no right to combine for the sake of work; rather, every prayer is to be performed in its own time. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) only combined for reasons, either for travel, or for illness, or for slippery ground, slipping, and rain. As for combining without a reason, he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not combine. And what is reported in the hadith of Ibn Abbas: "That he (peace and blessings be upon him) combined between Dhuhr and Asr, and between Maghrib and Isha, without fear and without rain," and in some narrations: "without fear and without travel," this is understood to be due to another excuse, such as slippery ground and slipping, or illness. The Shari'ah has established that it is not permissible to combine except for a legitimate religious excuse. Yes.
