Is it permissible for a woman to cut her hair?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The listener (M. 'A) from Riyadh sent a question about cutting a woman's hair, specifically the hair below the ear. Is that permissible or not?

Answer:
Hair is a form of beauty; the longer it is, the more beautiful the woman is. A woman is praised for the length and abundance of her hair. Therefore, leaving it as it is is preferable for her because of the beauty it holds. If there is a need to lighten it or cut some of its length, there is nothing wrong with that, and there is no blame on her. There is nothing in the evidence that prevents this. If she has a husband, she should consult him, because this relates to beauty. If he agrees to lightening it, there is nothing wrong with that. However, if he does not agree, she should not disobey him, because he has an interest in its length and her beauty with it.
It is established that the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cut from their heads after his death due to the burden and expense. If a woman cuts from her head due to the burden and fatigue, there is nothing wrong with it. Or if it is more beautiful in the eyes of her husband and more complete, and her husband loves that, there is nothing wrong with it. However, if it is for the sake of imitating the disbelieving women, it is not permissible. Imitating the disbelieving women is not permissible. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
