The Permissibility of Hastening to Prayer Upon the Adhan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message was received by the program from Bahrain, signed by one of the brothers, whose name was indicated by the initials (A. H. R). He is an Egyptian resident in Bahrain. Our brother has a number of questions, among which is one that says: Is it better for the mu'adhdhin to call the adhan for prayer while I am in the mosque waiting for the prayer? Or should I wait for the adhan at home so I can pray the voluntary prayers at home, and then go to the mosque to perform the prayer in congregation? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
All of that is good. If you go to the mosque before the adhan, there is nothing wrong with it. And if you wait in your home until the mu'adhdhin calls the adhan, and then you head to the mosque, all of that is fine. However, it is not obligatory for you until the adhan is called. So when you hear: "Hasten to prayer," then hasten and rush to the prayer. As for before that, you are at your option. If you see the benefit in heading out out of caution regarding obstacles, you proceed to the mosque; out of fear of obstacles that might prevent you from praying. This is part of being cautious, and it is also prescribed.
And if there are reasons that necessitate delaying, because it is better for you in works that benefit you, or in works of your home that benefit you, or benefit your household, then there is nothing wrong with it. And when the mu'adhdhin calls the adhan, hasten and rush to the mosque, and be glad of the great good.
The point is: that proceeding before the adhan involves a distinction. If there is a benefit in proceeding to the mosque before the adhan, then hasten to do so; hasten to do that; to realize the benefit. Such as the fear that someone might prevent you from proceeding to the mosque, or an obstacle might hinder you from going out after the adhan to the mosque, or other reasons you fear from.
As for if there are no such reasons, then what is prescribed for you is to hasten when you hear the adhan. You hasten to the prayer, and in your home you do what benefits you and benefits your family. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
