The wisdom behind the prohibition of gold for men

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Finally, our sister asks and says: Why is it forbidden for men to wear gold?

Answer:
Allah knows best; for Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) is the Wise, the All-Knowing. The servants must submit to the ruling of Allah and comply with it, whether they know the wisdom behind it or not; for Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is Wise and All-Knowing, and He prescribes for His servants what is best and most beneficial for them. Thus, He forbade men from wearing gold and permitted it for women. A group of scholars said: The wisdom in this is that gold is an adornment, and a woman needs adornment for her husband so that he is attracted to her and inclined toward her. Likewise, silk was permitted for women and not for men; because it is a fine adornment, so that is within the domain of women by the wisdom of Allah, so that they adorn themselves with gold, silver, and silk for their husbands, and a man has no need for that.
Also, there is another reason, which is that it is part of the attire of the disbelievers. So Allah permitted it for women because of their need, and prohibited it for men, making it for them in the Hereafter. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
'Abd al-Rahmin b. Abu Laili reported that Hudhaifa asked for water and a Magian gave him water in a silver vessel, whereupon he said: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Do not wear silk or brocade and do not drink ifi vessels of gold and silver, and do not eat in the dishes made of them (i. e. gold and silver), for these are for them (the non-believers) in this world.لا تلبسوا الحرير، ولا الديباج، ولا تشربوا في آنية الذهب، والفضة؛ فإنها لهم في الدنيا
Sahih Muslim 2067g
meaning: for the disbelievers
And for you in the Hereafterولكم في الآخرة
So He made it for the disbelievers in this world; they do not care, they enjoy it, they do not care. And He made it for the believers in Paradise, men and women alike. He permitted women to adorn themselves with gold and silver because of women’s need for adornment, and He forbade gold and silver vessels for everyone, for all men and women alike, such as plates, drinking vessels, tea cups, coffee cups; all of it is forbidden if made of gold or silver, and it is not permissible. These are among the wisdoms mentioned by some of the scholars.
It is obligatory for us to accept the ruling of Allah with open hearts, with simplicity, love, and satisfaction, even if we do not know the wisdom. But if we do know it, then that is light upon light, and good upon good. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
